Check the Handbook for the latest unit information.

In this unit you will focus on the development of both design and sculptural technologies specific to the cast object. Mould making and casting is a fundamental process of design that requires practical knowledge of processes and material. Designers require these skills to effectively and intelligently design and specify materials and processes. In this unit you will be encouraged to use experimental processes and cross-disciplinary approaches that will help you develop unique approaches to your creative practice. You will explore how contemporary technologies such as CAD and 3D printing intersect with traditional hands-on creative practice investigating both traditional and contemporary materials.
