Overview

The unit introduces you to a selection of the most pressing challenges facing the contemporary world, economic, political and social. Topics include global health and disease; crisis, conflict and disaster; environment, cities and sustainability; and global commerce, technology and consumption.

Assessment

1 - Analytical exercise - 20% 2 - Research Project - 40% 3 - Exercise/s - 10% 4 - Take-home final assessment - 30%

Workload

Minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this unit is 144 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of scheduled learning activities and independent study. Scheduled activities may include a combination of teacher directed learning, peer directed learning and online engagement.
